I was talking to about relationships and why it's important not seek out someone primarily on superficial traits. Then we talked about how important the relationship is for all future growth(long term goals, marriage, children, etc). This picture depicts medusa killing a hermes inspired character. Medusa represents the two sidedness of lust and by depicting her with with a knife ready in hand, she shows how lust can destroy someone of great potential or at least clip their wings and cripple their future. It's a stretch, yes - but it was what I was thinking as I drew it.
I didn't plan the composition out well enough and because I'm at home with only printer paper, I didn't get to draw the complete picture(the hermes type character would have looked a lot better if he was drawn in fully). I still like medusa's snake hair though, hehe.
Drawn in mechanical pencil, added color using PS CS3, 3 hours
lust is a great weapon against us the humankind ^^ conciousness and hard work is also difficult to reach due to so much things ....thx for sharing your words i was delighted to have such a good meat^^
very true, and AWESOME sentiment! this is such a cool and well thought out pic, i could tell what you aimed for without even reading it!
though the characters seem somewhat rigid, they have a beautiful quality to them, and i think its better not having his full body, it makes it easier to focus on what needs to be seen!
Good concept and very true! You show great wisdom for one so young, grasshopper.

It's always nice to see something inspired by something you reflected upon. Despite the slightly odd angle, I quite dig your composition here. Thumbs up. I hope to see more of such pieces in the future (But don't take that as an unsubtle hint or anything!)

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community.
